Dr. Arvind Neelakantan (Neel) is a fellowship-trained and board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in the medical and surgical management of complex glaucoma and cataract surgery.

Dr. Neel is extensively trained in glaucoma. He followed each of his residencies with a clinical fellowship in glaucoma at prestigious and world-renowned eye institutes: Sankara Nethralaya, Chennai, India, Moorfields Eye Hospital, London, England and Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, Florida. Dr. Neel is able to offer his patients the latest available technologies for diagnosis and treatment of all types of glaucoma. He is skilled at performing minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS), in addition to traditional glaucoma surgeries and combined cataract/glaucoma procedures.

He has presented numerous papers and conducted training courses for other physicians at major academic meetings, nationally and internationally. He continues to actively pursue research interests in glaucoma and is currently involved in the development of minimally invasive glaucoma surgical devices. He has con- tributed chapters to ophthalmology textbooks and is an invited reviewer for many ophthalmology journals. Dr. Neel is deeply interested in training the next generation of eye surgeons and also serves as Clinical Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at the UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas.

Outside of work, Dr. Neel loves running and biking around White Rock Lake and the Katy Trail in Dallas and belongs to the Dallas Running Club. He is a huge fan of the Florida Gators and passionately follows all Gator sports.
